A Parenting Coach Approach

Sometimes kids take little detours on their healthy eating path. This can take many forms: picky eating, sensory issues, power struggles at the dinner table, food refusal, negative body image, sneak eating, binge eating or drastic changes to previous eating patterns. These things happen. It’s how we treat them that matters.

The model of bringing a young child to a nutritionist’s office to get a lecture in healthy eating is outdated and can be hurtful rather than helpful. It feels scary, overwhelming, dismissive and shame-inducing for a child.

Instead, I coach parents to help them create positive, family-based changes at home. We set goals that engage the whole family and improve the physical, mental and emotional wellness of the child. We define success by having calmer meal times, less resistance, more honesty and better relationships with food and each other— NOT by how many bites of broccoli your child can take.

My Child and Toddler Package include:

  • One 60-minute virtual session with parent(s) and/or care provider(s).

  • Two 30-minute virtual follow up sessions to fine-tune your technique and troubleshoot.

  • One month of unlimited text and email support.

  • Parenting Handbook with tips, scripts and reminders for dealing with less-than-ideal food behaviors at home.
